CALL BEFORE YOU DIG

If you are going to be digging in your yard, call GRAINCO at 815-942-1022.  We will send someone to locate and mark your underground propane lines for FREE.

The 811 system is a free service that was started to help homeowners and contractors avoid hitting and breaking buried utilities during digging activities, such as planting a tree or building a deck. In most states, calling 811 before you dig is the law. But, 811, JULIE “Call before you dig” does NOT locate propane gas lines.

I SMELL PROPANE GAS

When propane is produced it is odorless and colorless. For safety and detection purposes, a chemical odorant (ethyl mercaptan) is added to propane. The presence of the odorant alerts you of a potential propane gas leak. The distinctive smell of propane has been described as something like rotten eggs or a dead animal.
